The Research Association of New Zealand knows how to pack a one-day conference full of new insights. The Infotoools team started the day by hosting a breakfast for clients, colleagues, and other friends from the industry, and then a chock-full day began with speakers addressing hot topics like the digital explosion, data-driven marketing, design thinking, customer experience and more.

Infotools’ Horst Feldhaeuser spoke on the three most buzz-worthy topics of 2017— automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence—all concepts that are changing the face of market research and impacting the future of the industry.

Leading up to the conference, Horst had two radio interviews with Radio New Zealand. In his first discussion, he talked about the impact that technology companies in New Zealand are having globally. The topic was so well-received that Radio New Zealand invited him back for a second appearance, where he delved into definitions of the three issues—automation, machine learning, and AI—and talked about how exciting these technologies are for our future. He explained that tools with these innovative features “free us up in our business life, helping us make more informed decisions and use that information to benefit our consumers.”

During the conference, the speaker line-up was concluded when we heard from the finalists from the RANZ “20/20 Powered by PechaKucha” presentations. These young researchers competed for the chance to present 20 slides per 20 seconds, and they all did a great job.

The day was wrapped up by a dinner sponsored by ResearchNow, and we barely made it home before a new day began.
